As you know, but our students might not, The European Day of Languages (EDL), is a Council of Europe initiative and is held annually on the 26 September to celebrate language and cultural diversity. The Day was first celebrated in 2001, the European Year of Languages, and involves more people every year.
EDL aims to:
alert the public to the importance of language learning
increase awareness and appreciation of all languages
encourage lifelong language learning
I was thinking that it might be a nice opportunity to put our students in touch, using for instance the forum of this wiki, or even creating a page for them to write about their ideas about their learning process.
Threads in the forum might be: what is for you the best way to learn a foreign language, can songs help, do you think it is important, and if yes why, to learn a foreign language and so on.
A page in the wiki for collaborative writing, might be about creating their "modest proposal to improve the teaching of a foreign language"
What do you think about it? Looking forward to reading your opinions and suggestions :))
