Hi everybody! I was on holiday for a couple of weeks and now I see that we are a nice group willing to work together! I am Alessandra - ale -and teach English in an Italian secondary school.
I have created this wiki in order to have a place to meet and cooperate. My nick on SKYPE is ale4042, so if you like we can have another way to meet and talk together.
As soon as Marta is back we will apply for an etwinning partnership so that we will be able to use the twinspace too. I suggest using the forum for discussions on general matters, and on the contrary using the discussion in each page of the wiki for what is peculiar to that specific page. Hopefully it makes sense. Don't hesitate to contact us for any problem you might have.
Hi everyone!
I'm back from my holidays too.
Now back to work! I hope everyone of you who has contacted me and has joined the wiki become very active in this site. I'm sure any idea is worthwhile and will help in the development of the project.
Hello colleagues! I`m Svetlana from Latvia.
My warmest congratulations on your back to work and the best wishes for a successful school year!
It looks like the summer is going to its end and it is time to plan activities for the new school year. I also had nice and relaxing holidays and now started the year with new energy and enthusiasm. I`m ready to discuss any ideas for the project.
I know some of you more than others. It would be good to know who we are - no idea which is the best place to do it, and how to do it best, any ideas?
Well, as a matter of fact, this forum should have just this function: to introduce ourselves and try to get acquainted with each other. Then we will have weekly chat sessions, for those who can manage of course. We could also prepare a document about our schools, cities and create a page "who we are" if you think it useful. We could also use the page "About" of our blog to introduce ourselves and share info. about our schools, countries, cities. We and the students, of course. Any other suggestions? Which one do you think more appropriate?
re introduction of schools and teachers - I agree the forum and chats help get to know each other. However I was thinking of having a separate page(?), as part of the menu in the wiki , or ?? in the welcome page, with the participants presented- the schools perhaps, the teachers and the group leaders? - am just thinking aloud. In a way, when we access our virtual space for the project, we would thus feel less anonymous. I know this will be in the final product but still it might be good to think about a wiki presentation, even if for reference purposes.
something like

Dear Tanya,
the twinspace in etwinning.net,provides for this kind of information: in MY TEAM students and teachers can write their profile and even upload a picture. And it is a restricted area, only for those taking part in the project.
Of course, for your students to be able to do that you have to register them in etwinnng.net.
The procedure.
access www.etwinning.net
then you log in
go to TWINSPACE
then to MY TEAM
Then INVITE NEW MEMBER
Then type in information about the student and save.
The details can be edited through SETTINGS
Then that student can access etwinning by typing his/her name and password
This has to be repeated for every student. You have to register them, then the quickest way to do that is to pass around a list of your students, they write their mail and password and you register one by one at home, or during your freetime at school. They can edit their profile whenever they wish. They have to write a short description and upload a picture. You have to do this for yourself too. This MY TEAM list is for everyone involved in the project to see, but it's a closed area.
Just try to do by editing your profile and ask me if any problem
Hi Marta
all very helpful!! Have found my way in the twinspace - amazing how all this is like unpeeling the layers of an onion - the more you unpeel, the more you get to know:-)
I think I know all I need - feel confident:-) Thank you, and Alessandra!!
Not sure about the chat on Wed, cant make it before 6.30 my time, if you are still online, will join you.
