Hi, just trying everything! This is just a proposal, I don't know if it fits, but we can work on it.
Hi, the schedule you see is just a draft: as a matter of fact, I don't think it will possible to work this way. I mean, each step will take a longer time that the one scheduled. Probably the best way will be to divide the students in groups and get them work on a topic for a longer time. Each group can then supervise what the others have done. What's your suggestion?
How about having some discussion in the class about topics dealt in the project?
Then they can write in forums.
I.e. discuss the song "The Ghost of Tom Joad" by Bruce Springsteen, based in the novel "The grapes of wrath". This way, they feel much more confident if we have talked about it in class. Moreover, it's a good speaking activity.
This is just an example, we can do more things!!!!
yes, it is ok, but the students need to know the book. How do yours feel about reading? :(
We could choose among novels they have read, and/or we could suggest poems, which are easier to be read during a lesson. I have seen there are some taken from Blake's collections in the site you have presented. We might find others. Or use movies taken from novels - hopefully my colleagues who teach Italian literature will never read this!!!!
I agree with you on that: they are not going to read the whole book; but if you just read the presentation of the novel; maybe watch a representative part of the movie…!!! I don't know, it was just an idea.
Here, we don't teach English literature, so most authors are going to be unknown to them. Just choose some which might be easy to write/talk about. I suggested "The Grapes of Wrath", because I found a very interesting worksheet on the issue.
I don't know how to create a link to a word page, so I'll send you something I started preparing about this to your private mail address.
We can change the author/work if you like: it was just intended to provide them with a sample before choosing and analysing a song themselves. Otherwise, they will feel quite lost about what to do.
You know I'm flexible!
